Happy Birthday, Ice Cream Cone!
Mrs. Buck's update for September 22nd 2006
Today, after spelling activities, we worked in our literacy groups. Some of us were at centers or on the rug with Mrs. Buck. Others were working on our next class book. Our spelling and selection tests followed. Practicing our handwriting has sure helped improve our letter formation skills. Our progress is amazing! Goldilocks better be ready to read our letters. We offer some helpful advice. In math, we compared money amounts. Finding out who had the most expensive name in the class was so much fun. Anthony had the most expensive name out of all of us. After lunch and SSR, we had art. The two projects we worked on were interesting. First, we made a giant class ice cream cone to celebrate the birthday of the ice cream cone. Each of us decorated a scoop of our favorite flavor. It looks mighty tasty in the hallway. Then, in the spirit of The Chalkbox Kid, we drew our very own chalk gardens. They are truly magnificent. The band assembly left us excited about music. At the end of the day, we discussed this week’s Gospel reading’s theme of conflict resolution. Have a most enjoyable weekend!
