Manana Iguana Is a Great Read!
Mrs. Buck's update for September 28th 2006
Today, we started with spelling activities and Sparkle. It’s so great that so many different people have won the Sparkle game so far this year. We quietly worked in our literacy groups before finishing up our story about Anthony Reynoso. Dissecting sentences to find the subjects and predicates had us thinking about sentences in a whole new way. Some of the sentences we wrote on strips were funny. After recess, we took our very first math test. We are almost finished Class Clown. Do you think Lucas’ idea about having a class circus at the end of the year will work? After lunch, we read Manana Iguana as a class. It is such a great book because it taught us some Spanish words. In religion, we continued talking about Baptism and also began working in our religion workbooks. In social studies, we took our quiz on flags and finished up our flag projects so they can be hung up in the hallway.
