Rainforest Animals Are So Interesting!

Mrs. Buck's update for October 20th 2006

After spelling activities, we reviewed our homework and worked with our Word of the Day: confusion. The Word Wall Wizard has really been a fun way for us to learn and review vocabulary. Our spelling test and selection test came next followed by handwriting practice. The book If I Ran The Rainforest had some of our animals in it! We were so excited to see them in the book. In math, we took some notes on the roman numerals and worked on a fun color by number sheet with roman numerals. We enjoyed listening to the Schoolhouse Rock cd as we worked. After lunch, we read during SSR. In religion, we reviewed both Baptism and Confirmation. This week’s Gospel tells the story about Jesus answering some of the Apostles’ questions. We prayed the rosary, remembering the third Glorious Mystery: The Descent of the Holy Spirit. It was a great connection to our Confirmation discussion. Our facts about our rainforest animals turned out super! We can’t wait to see them hanging up in the stairway for others to read. In art, we created cut/torn paper mosaic art pieces of our rainforest animals. They look absolutely stunning! We did such a great job cleaning up art. At the very end of the day, we received our progress reports. Have a spectacular weekend!
