It Sure Feels Like Fall!

Mrs. Buck's update for October 24th 2006

Our morning began with spelling activities, Word Wizard, and homework review.  We really enjoy Guys in Space.  It has made us laugh quite a bit.  Can you imagine a rock that talks?  In grammar, we began exploring plural possessive nouns.  This is a little bit tricky, but with some practice, we will become aces at using possessives correctly.  The sounds found in words like “boot” and “moon” were the focus of phonics today.  A game to reinforce our phonics skills was fun and educational.  Gym was a blast!  We love using those awesome turtle scooters!  After lunch, we read some of our SSR books.  Subtraction without regrouping proved to be no problem for us in math.  We also completed our second column on our math maintenance sheets.  The Luminous Mysteries are the last mysteries of the rosary we have yet to pray.  At the end of the day, we read some of Charlotte’s Web, along with some of the books by the soon-to-be visiting author, Lisa Funari Willever.
