Do You Think Wilbur is Really “Some Pig”?
Mrs. Buck's update for November 2nd 2006
After beginning our morning with spelling activities, we worked in our literacy groups. Tornado Alert sure gave us a lot of information about tornadoes. Did you know that some tornadoes look almost red or yellow? Did you know that winds of a tornado can reach 300 mph? We were glad that the story included safety tips for when tornadoes strike. Sparkle was fun, as usual. Those homophone spelling words can be tricky! In phonics, we worked with the digraph “ou” and the diphthong “ou.” Who would have thought that two letters could make so many different sounds? In math, we finished up our math maintenance and took our quiz on subtraction. Everyone in Charlotte’s Web is convinced that Wilbur is a special pig because of Charlotte’s handiwork. It’s so funny how the miracle really changed their minds. After lunch, we read some of our SSR books and took our quiz on Baptism and Confirmation. We finished up the last of our rosary and also discussed some saints that we didn’t get to on Monday. Our social studies projects are magnificent! We began sharing them with one another in class today. They will look absolutely stunning in the hallway!
