Take a Look at Our Totem Poles!
Mrs. Buck's update for November 17th 2006
A morning of spelling activities, literacy group work, and test-taking made for a busy start to our day. We finished our cornucopias for next week’s prayer service. Our first experimentation with alliteration turned out great. You should read our Precious Puffin Poems. How many words that begin with “p” can you find in them? Preliminary sketches of our symbolic animals for our totem poles helped us prepare for art. After recess, we took notes in Math class on the Identity and Zero Properties of Multiplication. These math facts are pretty easy to remember. A game of Around the World with a mix of addition, subtraction, and multiplication problems kept us on our toes. After lunch, we read our SSR books and discussed the Gospel for Sunday. We also went over our Religion test from yesterday, assuring our understanding of the material. In art class, we created incredible totem poles. We each had our own coffee can to add to the poles. You can view this wonderful project at the end of the hallway. What a great way to celebrate Native American Heritage Month. Singing practice left us feeling cheerful at the end of the day. Have a super weekend!
