After working with a new chapter in spelling, we worked in our literacy groups.  Our reading skill this week is steps in a process.  Our Unit 2 Assessment in Reading began today.  We will continue this test tomorrow and Wednesday.  Our new story, What Authors Do, ties into our theme of Careers.  Career Day is going to be a blast!  We are very excited about writing our career reports and dressing up.  In math, we continued working with multiplying by 2.  Multiplying by 5’s is next.  Charlotte has laid her egg sac.  We made some predictions about why she said she won’t ever be able to see her 514 babies.  After lunch, we read our SSR books.  In religion, we began learning about the Sacraments of Healing.  One of these, Penance, we just celebrated last week to prepare for Advent.  It truly is a beautiful sacrament.  In the afternoon, we met our prayer partners.  They are in the 8th grade.  We conducted some interviews in order to find out more about them.  We’ll see them again next week at the Santa Shop.  We are all looking forward to our field trip tomorrow.  It will be very educational and fun.
