Speaking of Our Word of the Day, Do You Have a Journal?
Mrs. Buck's update for December 19th 2006
After working with a Christmas cloze activity and verbs, we explored our Word Wall Wizard Word of the Day: journal. Our selection test on Brave as a Mountain Lion was a breeze. Practicing our handwriting made for a peaceful morning. In grammar, we learned about regular and irregular verbs. The English language sure can be confusing sometimes. There are so many rule-breakers! We finished The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. It did end up being the best one! Can you believe that Imogene Herdman cried? After recess, we had gym with Mrs. Green and Mrs. Lee. We loved playing with the hula hoops and parachute. Even Mrs. Green, Mrs. Lee, and Mrs. Buck sat in the middle of the parachute and spun around! After lunch, we had a quick math lesson about order in multiplication. Switching the factors doesn’t change the product. That is known as the commutative property. Game afternoon was a blast. We enjoyed playing one another in all types of games and munching on some tasty snacks. At the dress rehearsal for the Christmas tableau, we sang our hearts out. The show is going to be so nice tomorrow evening!
