Thank You For Making Teacher Appreciation Day So Great!

Mrs. Buck's update for January 31st 2007

Thank you all for making my Teacher Appreciation Day so very wonderful!  We had a marvelous day today!  It all began with spelling activities and a Word Ladder sheet.  Mrs. McGonigal read us a funny book about Valentine’s Day at library.  Sam ended up using his money in a kind way.  He felt very “lucky” at the end of the story.  Working with consonant blends in phonics helped us realize that one sound can be made by several letters.  The BFG ate tons of eggs, sausage, bacon, and toast.  There wasn’t any food left!  The Queen summoned the Air Force and the Army.  Hopefully, their plan to capture the giants will work.  After recess, we had computer class with Mrs. Nolan.  In math, we began multiplying by 6’s.  Using buttons as counters, we worked hands on with groups of six to fully comprehend these important math facts.  After writing our facts in our copybooks, we took a math maintenance.  In religion, we learned about the fifth commandment.  It was interesting to learn how we can follow this commandment as third graders.  Our cleaning session at the end of the day was a total success!  The room looks amazing!  We hope to see you tonight at Open House!
