Happy Student Appreciation Day!
Mrs. Buck's update for February 2nd 2007
You are all appreciated so much! Thank you for making every day at St. Francis a fun adventure! After a morning of spelling activities and Word Ladder, we explored our Word of the Day: “probably.” After literacy group work, we worked with adjectives that tell how many. Did you know that “five” or “several” can be adjectives? Partner work with these adjectives and the three articles (the, an, and a) proved helpful in reinforcing our learning. The helicopters have arrived in Giant Country in The BFG. After recess, we worked with multiplying sixes. A game of Math Facts Race had us using our multiplication facts in a fun way. After indoor recess and lunch, we read our SSR books. Five Chinese Brothers was a hilarious tale that tied into our weekly theme of China. Watching James and the Giant Peach was a special treat for Student Appreciation Day! Our day ended with singing practice for tomorrow’s First Friday mass.
