Due to a snow day on the “real” Valentine’s Day, we enjoyed this special day today, February 15!  Our day began with a two hour delay, which made for an interesting morning.  We worked on some fun Valentine’s worksheets and some spelling activities.  Our Word of the Day was:  “school.”  After working with our literacy groups, we finished our story:  One Grain of Rice.  Rani outsmarted the raja and gave back to the people.  After recess and lunch, we took our religion test on the Ten Commandments.  We enjoyed writing compliment cards as part of our Valentine’s Day celebration.  They made us feel all warm and fuzzy inside.  A big thank you to everyone who sent in delicious treats and snacks for our party.  We had an overabundance of things to eat.  Our valentine notes ended our day on a cheery note.
