Our New Cycle of Centers is Exciting!
Mrs. Buck's update for February 20th 2007
Our Tuesday began with a new chapter in spelling. This week we will work with more words containing “r” controlled vowels. Our Word of the Day was: “sometimes.” We were so excited to begin our new centers. Ask us about the Contraction Contraption and Guess Who Writing. In reading, we explored our new vocabulary for The Woman Who Outshone the Sun. In grammar, we used our textbooks to more fully understand the use of contractions. We had no trouble combining words to make contractions. After recess, we had gym with Mrs. Sheehan. Dodgeball was a blast! Mrs. Buck and Mrs. Sheehan tried to tag us. We all loved being under the parachute too. After lunch, we copied our homework and received tests back from last week. Mrs. Grayum had us singing away in music class. A quiz on multiplication facts for 6, 7, 8, and 9 came next. We also reviewed multiplying three numbers and some division. The prayer service from Valentine’s Day was well done. The fourth grade did a super job! Reading The Tale of Despereaux finished up our fantastic day.
