Our Famous Women Flowers Are Perfect for Spring!

Mrs. Buck's update for March 22nd 2007

Our morning began with spelling activities and our Word of the Day:  “too.”  We learned when to use the “too” with the extra “o”!  Next, we worked at centers, on class book, and in group.  Our group work this week is about the story of Rumpelstiltskin.  Mrs. Buck can’t believe that this is a new story for many of us.  Our eyes were wide as we listened to the tale.  In reading, we finished up Brave Irene.  We took our grammar test on adverbs and worked with prefixes in phonics.  Before recess, we started our Famous Women Flowers.  It’s a good project to brush up on our writing, reading, and research skills.  After recess, we continued our flowers and cut out our 10 Commandment keys.  They will make for a great study guide!  After lunch, we worked on our Stations of the Cross booklets and played Sparkle.  In social studies, we continued learning about the continents and oceans.  Mrs. Buck gave us some fun, helpful songs to help us remember the names.  At the end of the day, we read about Despereaux.  We are so sad to be nearing the end of the book.
