Painting Bubbles With Bubbles Made Us Bubbly!
Mrs. Buck's update for March 23rd 2007
Spelling activities started our day. Our Word Wall Wizard Word of the Day was: “trouble.” (It rhymes with bubble…how ironic!) After completing work with our literacy groups, we took our spelling and selection tests. We finished The Tale of Despereaux! What a wonderful ending! If you haven’t read it yet, you should! It’s such a great read. Our Famous Women flowers look awesome hanging in the hallway. We shared the information we learned and asked many questions. It’s so nice to learn about so many women who affected history in some way. We read a book about Helen Keller. She was one remarkable lady. After solving some riddles in braille, we wrote our own names in braille. We enjoyed feeling the braille alphabet as well. In religion, we discussed the seventh commandment and how we can think of Jesus when we have something difficult to do. We also listened to the Gospel that we will hear at church this weekend. Math-O reviewed our basic math facts. Painting bubbles with bubbles (mixed with paint) was a fun way to celebrated Bubble Blowing Day! We enjoyed trying several different techniques. At the end of the day, we checked homework and discussed touching safety. Reviewing the ideas of “No, Go, Tell, Show” helped us recall what to do in an uncomfortable situation. Have a magnificent weekend!
