Our New Read-Aloud is The Indian In The Cupboard!

Mrs. Buck's update for March 30th 2007

We finished up our five senses collages and spelling activities in the morning.  Our Word Wall Wizard Word of the Day was:  “usually.”  We worked on author’s purpose, literacy centers, and our Easter Reports in our literacy groups.  Our spelling and selection tests followed.  After this, we worked on phonics and shared the things that we learned this week about the five senses from the “L” section of our KWL charts.  We learned many different things!  Our new class read-aloud book is The Indian in the Cupboard!  We are very excited about reading it.  It sounds like a great book.  After recess, we continued multiplying and regrouping.  Making worksheets and swapping with partners was a fun way to practice this skill.  We enjoyed the oral quiz that Mrs. Buck gave us at the rug to review concepts of time, money, subtraction, and geometry.  After lunch, we read our SSR books.  In religion, we worked on our Stations of the Cross booklets.  They are nearly complete!  They will make for a nice keepsake for Easter.  In social studies, we worked with maps and globes.  We learned some interesting facts about our state of Pennsylvania!  Have a super-dee-duper weekend!
