Congratulations Are In Order For Our Book-It Readers!

Mrs. Buck's update for April 2nd 2007

Our morning began with pictures of Palm Sunday and symbols of Lent.  We talked about each symbol and why it is important.  Our Word of the Day today was:  “vacation.”  Mrs. Buck surprised us today by telling us that all of the readers who participated in the Book-It program and achieved every monthly reading goal will be treated to a pizza lunch with her!  We enjoyed making sentences for this fun word!  In grammar, we learned about pronouns that come after verbs.  We also worked with abbreviations.  Did you know that a few of the months of the year do not get abbreviated?  We are anxious to hear about one another’s timelines on Wednesday.  Perhaps some of us started walking or talking around the same time!  Omri meets the Indian in The Indian in the Cupboard.  Can you imagine if your toy came to life?  We discussed the Thirteenth Station of the Cross:  Jesus is Taken From the Cross.  It must have been so hard for Mary.  Our booklets look lovely.  After recess, we took our Math Maintenance sheet.  Our topic in math was multiplying 3 digit numbers.  We read some of He Is Alive before lunch.  It is a beautiful picture book about the last week of Jesus’ life.  After lunch, we copied homework and read our SSR books.  In social studies, we reviewed for our maps and globes test.
