Polygons Are Everywhere!
Mrs. Buck's update for April 23rd 2007
Our beautiful day began with a new chapter in spelling. We were so excited to start working in our literacy centers again. In reading, we explored our new weekly vocabulary and story: The Pinata Maker. Our handwriting looks amazing in our handwriting books! We’ve grown so much! Omri showed his friend Patrick Little Bear and his horse in The Indian in the Cupboard. Now, Patrick wants a tiny friend of his own! After reading The Art Lesson by Tomie dePaolo, we wrote about text to self connections we made. It’s so nice when you connect with a book! After recess, we took geometry notes for math. We enjoyed drawing different shapes, lines, and figures. Did you know that polygons are all around us? Try to see how many you can find. After lunch, we copied our homework and read our SSR books. In religion, we talked about Sunday’s Gospel reading and worked on a religion maintenance. Learning about famous artists and their work is inspiring! During social studies, we discussed mining and mines.
