What Cylinders Do You See Every Day?
Mrs. Buck's update for May 3rd 2007
Spelling activities started our day. Our Word Ladder sheets are really helping to expand our vocabulary. Our Word Wall Wizard Word of the Day today was: “who.” After checking our homework, we worked in our literacy groups. Our Easter class book is nearly finished. We can’t wait to publish it! This set of center activities is a fun one! The Combo Sentence frames and Create-a-word projects are extraordinary! In reading, we reviewed our reader story and discussed setting. Grammar had us evaluating letters of invitation and acceptance. Practice for the Spring Show was helpful in getting used to the stage and risers. After recess, we further explored solid figures in math. Working cooperatively with partners, we drew illustrations of everyday examples of cones, spheres, rectangular prisms, pyramids, cylinders, and cubes. In religion, we assembled Rosary booklets so we can read about the Mysteries. We also prayed two decades of the Rosary, reflecting on the second and third Joyful Mysteries. May Procession practice in the afternoon had us singing with all our hearts. At the end of the day, we read some of The Indian in the Cupboard. Patrick told the headmaster all about Little Bear!
