Alien Sock Puppets From Mars Took Over Our Classroom!
Mrs. Buck's update for May 25th 2007
We began our day by working on our newspaper articles about third grade. Our Word Wall Wizard Word of the Day was: “your.” Mrs. Buck was the wizard! It was our last Word of the Day for the year. After working on a Word Ladder sheet, we completed some spelling activities. We worked at literacy centers and then took our spelling and selection tests. A review of the “ew” sound in phonics came next. Omri made Little Bear, Boone, and Bright Stars back into plastic in The Indian in the Cupboard. We can’t believe we finished the book! After recess, we explored measurement tools in math. What tool would you use to measure the weight of an apple? A run-through of our End of the Year Celebration proved helpful in practicing our lines. After lunch, we listened to Sunday’s Gospel and discussed Pentecost. We also prayed the rosary. In art, we created alien sock puppets to finish out our theme of space. They are adorable! An assembly about dental health finished up our Friday. Have a beautiful Memorial Day weekend!
