We Are Creating Brand-New Sports!
Mrs. Buck's update for October 1st 2007
Our Wonderful Word of the Day today was: enthusiasm. We showed a lot of enthusiasm for our weekly theme of Sports! What perfect timing for this theme! Go Phillies! After starting a new chapter in spelling and working on spelling activities, we perused our new story: Allie’s Basketball Dreams. Most of the vocabulary words this week are familiar to us. In handwriting, we practiced our c’s and q’s. You should hear our ideas for our Create-A-Sport projects. Boy, are we pumped! We can’t wait to write about these and explain how to play. We are also going to create jerseys and team names too! After recess, we began reading Frindle by Andrew Clements. He’s a great author. It’s a fabulous book. Nick has some interesting ideas! In math, we took our math maintenance and learned about the properties of addition. Praying the rosary in religion class had us talking to God in a special way. We went over the different parts of the rosary and reflected on the first Joyful Mystery: The Annunciation. We also shared our Baptism photos with one another. After lunch, we read our SSR books and copied homework. Our Conduct Calendars are in our assignment books for October. Social Studies class was all about our conflict resolution role playing. We did a great job! Art class had us thinking of famous artwork and artists.
