Praying to Saints Brings Us Peace!

Mrs. Buck's update for October 30th 2007

Our day began with our Word of the Day:  hesitate.  After spelling activities, we checked our homework.  Next, we worked in our literacy groups.  Excitement filled the air as we started working on a new cycle of Centers activities.  In reading, we finished Wild Shots, They’re My Life.  Many of us think that being a professional photographer would be a great job.  Can you imagine if your mom was a witch?  That’s what we read about in My Working Mom.  After recess, we practiced our downcurves in handwriting.  We have started working with capital cursive letters.  Today we used capital “A,” “O,” and “D.”  Math began with math maintenance and a review of last night’s homework.  We started subtraction with regrouping.  Having spent time using the place value blocks, we understand where we get the numbers for regrouping.  Gym class outside with Mr. Bruno had us burning off energy!  After lunch, we copied our homework and read our SSR books.  In religion, we took our quiz on Confirmation.  We also created our mini saints replicas.  They will be very informative for all passersby in the hallway.  The prayers we wrote to each saint are touching.  Our Post-Lab in science prepared us for our Lab tomorrow.  We will be exploring the concepts of water and volume using different containers.  Can you believe tomorrow is already Halloween?
