We Are Exploring Native American Culture!
Mrs. Buck's update for November 19th 2007
Our day began with our Wonderful Word of the Day: loyal. Are you loyal? After completing a packet using homophones, we met to discuss this week’s plans. Our Unit 2 Theme test in reading came next. After recess, we worked on two other parts of our reading comprehension section of our Theme test. Poor Kris Kringle was sent to the hospital in Miracle on 34th Street. In math, we began multiplying with the factor of 2. If you know your addition doubles, these are a cinch! In religion, we added the Act of Contrition to our prayer section of our copybooks. This is also good preparation for Penance. After lunch, we copied our homework and read our SSR books. Social studies had us working in small groups to create Native American culture projects. We are eager to find out about the different tribes’ traditions. At the end of the day, we had a fun art class.
