We Voted For Popcorn and a Movie!

Mrs. Buck's update for November 28th 2007

After working on spelling activities, we headed down to the science lab.  We sure learned a lot about buoyancy.  Did you know that you can change the buoyancy of an object?  After science, we worked in our literacy groups.  The capital T and capital F in cursive are very similar.  Since we earned all of our Magic Marbles yesterday, we voted on our reward.  We are going to have a movie afternoon next Thursday with a popcorn treat!  We are very excited!  Mrs. Buck is very proud of us for earning all of the marbles.  The trial is still taking place in Miracle on 34th Street.  Poor Fred lost his job at the law firm!  After recess, we finished reading The Stories Julian Tells in our reading textbooks.  In math, we took our quiz on multiplying 2’s and 5’s.  We also completed some of our Math Maintenance and played a game of Around the World.  Mrs. Buck can tell who has been practicing flashcards already!  In religion, we reviewed all of the prayers we have in our copybooks.  We also added in Grace Before Meals and the Angel of God prayer.  Spending time working with plural possessives helped us understand them more.  Using plural possessives in sentences had our brains really thinking!  After lunch, we copied our homework and read our SSR books.  Timelines of early American history were fun to make with partners in social studies class.  At the end of the day, we went up to the computer lab to type up our “I” poems for our class book.
