Families are Special!
Mrs. Buck's update for November 30th 2007
Our day began with our Wonderful Word of the Day: mission. After completing spelling activities, we took our spelling and reading tests. Writing our compare/contrast writing pieces about ourselves and a family member had us thinking of similarities and differences. This was the first time we wrote a multiple paragraph essay and we did a fantastic job! In religion, we created our Advent Good Deed Jars. There is one good deed for every day leading up to and including Christmas Day. This will be such a nice way to prepare the way for the Lord. We also discussed St. Andrew, the Apostle, since today is his feast day. The Gospel reading for Sunday had us thinking about preparing the way for the Son of God, being ready, and alert. In math, we worked with multiplication facts for one and zero. These are fun for us to solve! Fred still needs to convince Judge Harper that Kris Kringle really is Santa Claus in Miracle on 34th Street. Do you think he’ll be able to do it? We are anxious to find out! After recess, we read our SSR books. We enjoyed reading from our Weekly Reader magazine. Our Friday ended with music with Mrs. Smart. Have a super-dee-duper weekend!
