Multiplying by Threes is Just Like Counting by Threes!

Mrs. Buck's update for December 13th 2007

Our Wonderful Word of the Day today was:  occasion.  What special occasion are you currently planning for?  After coloring our Advent candles, reviewing our homework, and working on spelling activities, we added another ornament to our Jesse Tree.  Today we added the Jesse ornament.  From the roots of the Jesse tree came forth the Messiah, Jesus Christ.  In reading, we worked in our literacy groups.  It was the last cycle of Center activities and we are eager to find out about the new ones we will be working at in January.  Two games of Sparkle were a blast!  After library, we ate our snacks and had indoor recess.  Listening to Centerfield Ballhawk on cd helps us improve our reading comprehension and listening skills.  Our grammar test on plural possessives and abbreviations came next.  In math, we worked on our Math Maintenace sheet.  The multiplication facts for threes involved skip-counting by threes.  We finished up our notes on the sacrament of Anointing of the Sick.  After lunch, we copied our homework, read our SSR books, and received back several test grades.  The Post-Lab in science involved filling out a table of our results and sharing our findings with one another.  Our social studies group projects are underway!  Washington, D.C. is a fantastic city with so much history!
