Career Day Was a Success!
Mrs. Buck's update for December 14th 2007
Our Word of the Day today was: official. What do you do or have that is official? After reviewing our homework, working on spelling activities, and coloring our Advent candles, we added our “David” ornament to our Jesse tree. We talked about the Star of David and its importance for the people of Israel. A quick practice of our Career presentations came next, followed by our spelling and reading tests. We practiced capital “S” and “L” in our handwriting books. Two stories from our Advent book made us smile. After recess, we took our Math Maintenance sheet, sang our multiplication songs, and added the facts for four in our copybooks. The new Fours Song is a good one! In religion, we listened to Sunday’s Gospel about John the Baptist and talked about waiting for Jesus. We also worked on a Religion Maintenance sheet. A Weekly Reader about astronauts, cars, and bugs was fun to read. In grammar, we began learning about prefixes, suffixes, and root words. Some of these can be tricky to pick out and spell. We’ll continue with this topic next week. After lunch, we copied our homework and read our SSR books. In social studies, we continued working on our group projects about Washington, D.C. Our Career Day presentations were incredible! Mrs. Buck is so very proud of all our hard work. We had a great time sharing our future aspirations with our guests. Have a spectacular weekend!
