Glittery Gingerbread People Became Festive Cards for Our Buddies!
Mrs. Buck's update for December 18th 2007
Our day began with the Wonderful Word of the Day: opinion. Do you have a strong opinion about something? How is an opinion different than a fact? We began a new chapter in spelling. All of our words this week have the /ar/ pattern. After working on spelling activities, we added four new ornaments to our Jesse Tree. We listened to many interesting stories about Jonah, Zechariah, Elizabeth, John the Baptist, Joachim, and Anne. We are getting closer to Jesus each day! In reading, we explored our weekly vocabulary words by completing our “Write, Draw, Show” activity. Listening to three new stories from our Advent book was fun. After recess, we took our religion test on the Sacraments of Healing. Next, we designed glittery gingerbread people to give to our Kindergarten buddies. The messages we wrote to them are sweet! Gym class with Mr. Bruno had us working up a sweat as we played volleyball. After lunch, we copied our homework and read our SSR books. In social studies, we continued working on our group projects about Washington, D.C. Our Christmas party at the end of the day filled our hearts with laughter and joy. It was a very nice way to spread the holiday spirit!
