Mr. Buck Was Our Mystery Reader!

Mrs. Buck's update for January 31st 2008

Our Wonderful Word of the Day today was:  reveal.  What is something you try not to reveal?  After working on spelling activities, we reviewed our homework.  Listening to Why Mosquitoes Buzz in People’s Ears on cd and following along with our rulers or fingers, helped us recall different parts of the story and prepared us for the comprehension test.  We took our spelling test next.  At library, we explored the Book Fair and made our purchases.  Some of the books we got are very interesting!  After recess, we took our comprehension test.  As part of ILA, we continued working on our onomatopoeia poems.  They are really coming along nicely!  In religion, we listened to Sunday’s Gospel reading.  With partners, we each illustrated one of the Beatitudes.  Jesus tells the disciples about the Beatitudes in this Sunday’s Gospel reading.  Now, we know what they mean.  After lunch, we were delighted to have a Mystery Reader.  It was Mr. Buck!  We were so glad to meet him!  He read us a hilarious book about fables called Squids Will Be Squids.  In math, we worked on our Math Maintenance and took our last timed test on the multiplication facts for 2.  We also continued learning about division.  In social studies, we completed a puzzle of the North American continent.  Have an enjoyable long weekend!
