We Are Going to Sing Our Pirates Song in The Talent Show!
Mrs. Buck's update for February 4th 2008
Our day began with our Wonderful Word of the Day: satisfy. What can satisfy you when you are hungry or thirsty? After working with our new chapter in spelling of words with double consonants, we talked about our Mystery Book Reports and our Black History Month projects. We are excited about our Mystery reports because they sound like a lot of fun! It will be very interesting to learn about famous African Americans as we work on our Black History Month projects. We explored our new vocabulary in reading by working on our “Write, Draw, Show” activity. After morning recess, we worked on our Math Maintenance and took our first timed test on the multiplication facts for 5. In math, we explored dividing by 6 and 7. We practiced all of our math songs, but especially our Slinky Sevens song because we are going to sing it in the Talent Show! It is going to be incredible! In religion, we took notes on the season of Lent. We also discussed Friday’s Mass since the third grade is in charge of leading the liturgy. Our invitations look beautiful! Sophie and the BFG are ecstatic about eating breakfast with the Queen. No more snozzcumbers! After lunch, we copied our homework and read our SSR books. In social studies, we reviewed for our quiz tomorrow on globes. We also prepared for our adjective test. We laughed a lot as we created long, spicy sentences as a class. Mrs. Buck really wants us to use loads of adjectives in our writing! Art class ended our day on a creative note.
