Random Acts of Kindness Make Hearts Glow!

Mrs. Buck's update for February 21st 2008

Today’s Wonderful Word of the Day was:  switch.  Did you know this word is both a noun and a verb?  When is the last time you switched a switch?  After working on a cloze activity on Thomas Jefferson and completing a Word Ladder, we met in our literacy groups.  We finished up our Unit test in reading.  As part of Lent, we performed random acts of kindness by creating cards for all of the faculty members here at St. Elizabeth’s.  These greetings will surely warm hearts!  After recess, we took a timed test on the 3’s facts and reviewed our math homework.  Next, we practiced our math songs.  The Talent Show is fast approaching!  Our two plays, Clinky Planky Tenbo De Horpy Da Sorpy Yorbble Yibble Blat and Thaddeus Thumb, were fun to perform and watch.  Library with Mrs. C. was a good time, as always.  After lunch, we copied our homework and read our SSR books.  Thursday envelopes and tests were handed out.  We worked on our second Stations of the Cross page depicting the Second Station:  Jesus Takes Up His Cross.  Jesus was so very brave!  In science, we completed our Post-Lab.  We compared series circuits with parallel circuits using a Venn diagram.  We also viewed images of the two different circuits and labeled them appropriately.  We finished our afternoon with our read aloud:  The Tale of Despereaux.
