Octopus Tag With Mrs. Buck At Gym Was A Blast!
Mrs. Buck's update for February 26th 2008
Our Word of the Day today was: terrify. Does anything terrify you? After reviewing our homework and working in our literacy groups, we began reading Leah’s Pony. The genre of historical fiction interests us greatly. In The Tale of Despereaux, Despereaux was pushed into the dark dungeon by his own brother! After recess, we took a timed test on the multiplication facts for 4’s and then played a fun review game for our math test tomorrow. Gym class was exciting! Mrs. Buck was our teacher and we played Octopus Tag outside. It was a little drizzly, but it was good to get some fresh air. We also ran some relay races and played Simon Says. Mrs. Buck was impressed with our listening skills. A Berenstein Bears book about not eating junk food tied into our theme of nutrition. We liked it just as much as yesterday’s book about going to the dentist. After lunch, we copied our homework and read our SSR books. In social studies, we each chose our states for our states project. We are eager to start researching our states! In science, we worked on our Pre-Lab for tomorrow’s Lab. Do you know the difference between revolution and rotation? At the end of the day, Mrs. Buck read us some funny poetry by Jack Prelutsky.
