Our Landform Watercolor Paintings are Magnificent!
Mrs. Buck's update for April 23rd 2008
Our Wednesday morning began with a vocabulary sheet and spelling activities. We began our new Science Cell, The Sun and Our Skin, today. It was interesting to observe our skin and compare it to the skin of an orange. Did you know our skin has three main layers? After lab, we reviewed our homework and worked in our literacy groups. After recess, we worked on our landform paintings. We added paint to our sketches from yesterday and then labeled each landform. In religion, we took notes about prayer and finished our prayer cubes. They look very cool on our prayer table. Our retellings of The Tale of Despereaux from the perspectives of characters are really coming together. After lunch, we copied our homework and read our SSR books. In social studies, we took a test on landforms and climate. The Lorax by Dr. Seuss was a great story to read about taking care of the earth. If you were to speak for the trees, what would you say? We wrote our thoughts about this and shared them with one another. Our afternoon ended with computer class with Mr. D.
