Every Member of a Food Web is Important!
Mrs. Buck's update for April 24th 2008
Our day began with a vocabulary review sheet and spelling activities. After reviewing our homework, we played Sparkle. Next, we headed to library. After recess, we finished reading Alejandro’s Gift with partners. We answered discussion questions about the story. In grammar, we took our test on verbs. In math, we began learning about angles. Did you know there are three types of angles? After taking some geometry notes and working with examples together as a class, we partnered off to make angles on geoboards. It was a hands-on, fun way to learn about right, acute, and obtuse angles. We were also excited to learn what “perpendicular” means. Before lunch, we began talking about food chains and food webs. We read books about how important it is to take care of the planet. After lunch, we copied our homework and read our SSR books. We received back several tests and also progress reports. Designing our very own food chains helped us understand the interconnectedness of all creatures. In the afternoon, we also worked in our literacy groups and finished our Post-Lab in science.
