Our Earth Appreciation Picnic Lunch Was Great!

Mrs. Buck's update for April 25th 2008

Happy Friday!  Our morning began with a review of vocabulary and spelling activities.  After checking over our homework, we listened to Alejandro’s Gift and followed along.  This reinforces reading, listening, and phonics skills.  Next, we took our spelling test, followed by our reading comprehension test.  After recess, we went up to the Social Hall to view the 6th and 7th grade Science Fair projects.  We enjoyed seeing all of the creative ideas and reading the results.  A Geography book about landforms was a nice review of important terms and also tied into our Earth Day theme.  In religion, we created prayer booklets.  Our prayers of praise, thanksgiving, petition, and forgiveness are beautiful.  The booklets look lovely hanging on our bulletin board.  Lunch was special today!  It was great to have some fresh air and sunshine as we ate.  After lunch, we copied our homework, read our SSR books, and had a Mystery Reader.  After reading a Weekly Reader magazine about how volcanoes can help the planet, we headed up to music class.  Have an incredible weekend!
