Cups, Pints, Quarts, Gallons, Oh My!
Mrs. Buck's update for May 22nd 2008
Today began with vocabulary review and spelling activities. After reviewing our homework, we completed our science Post-Lab. Two games of Sparkle had us showing off our knowledge of our spelling words. Next, we went up to the library. After recess, we finished reading Visitors From Space and answered discussion questions. In math, we began exploring units of capacity. Do you know how many cups are in a pint? It was fun illustrating these concepts in our books. In religion, we prayed two decades of the rosary: The Fourth Glorious Mystery - The Assumption of Mary and The Fifth Glorious Mystery: The Crowning of Mary. Practicing for the End of the Year Celebration helped us realize the importance of projecting our voices and taking our time. After lunch, we copied our homework and read our SSR books. We worked in our literacy centers and then took a quiz on famous people in social studies. We also started learning about Paul Bunyan.
