Our End of the Year Celebration Was Extraordinary!
Mrs. Buck's update for May 30th 2008Today started with some vocabulary review and Word Ladder sheets that review word meanings and phonemic awareness. In religion, we finished our Maintenance Sheet and prayed the rosary. Today was the last day we prayed the rosary together as a class. We reflected on the Fifth Luminous Mystery: The Institution of the Holy Eucharist at the Last Supper. To celebrate our patron saint of St. Elizabeth, we talked about the story of the Visitation and brainstormed ways in which we can be like St. Elizabeth by recognizing Jesus in others. Sunday’s Gospel reading uses the symbols of a house on rock and a house on sand to explain living out our faith. Reviewing for our Religion exam helped us demonstrate what we’ve learned this year. After recess, we finished our Math Maintenance Sheet and began reviewing for our math exam. We played a fun game with two teams: The Turtles and The Frogs. Next, we organized our room for the End of the Year Celebration and had a dress rehearsal. After lunch, we had a Mystery Reader. We went to music class with Mrs. Smart and practiced our recorders. At the end of the day, we had our End of the Year Celebration. Mrs. Buck is so very proud of all of us! Everyone did such a wonderful job reading and singing. It was a wonderful event! Have a super-dee-duper weekend!
