The Pre-School Thanksgiving Sing-A-Long Was Great!

Mrs. Buck's update for November 23rd 2009

We had a fantastic day today!  Our Question of the Day today was:  Do you like the taste of turkey?  After our morning meeting, we had math.  In math, we talked about height and how some things are shorter than us while other things are taller than us.  We did body height comparisons and drew pictures of items that are shorter or taller than us.  After recess and snack, we read a book called:  “You Can’t Taste a Pickle With Your Ear.”  It was very funny!  Then, we practiced the letter “x.”  The Pre-School Thanksgiving Sing-A-Long Show was very enjoyable.  We loved seeing the pre-schoolers in their Pilgrim and Native American costumes.  The songs were adorable!  In language arts, we practiced writing words and read our new weekly poem:  “My Nose.”  Before recess, we read a book about Native Americans and Thanksgiving.  After lunch and Quiet Time, we had science.  Two Sense Stations were set up for us to explore in small groups.  The Smell Station had us smelling all sorts of items and identifying them.  The Sound Station involved playing a game of Sound Charades.  Our journal topic today was:  I like to smell…  At the end of the day, we worked with syllables and read another Thanksgiving book to prepare for this special holiday.
