Happy Thanksgiving!
Mrs. Buck's update for November 24th 2009
We had a very special day today. Our Question of the Day: Which sense do you like using most? Can you guess which one we picked? After our morning meeting, we had a fun math lesson. It was called Teen Tangle. It was like Twister. We had to put a foot or hand on one of the teen numbers when it appeared on the spinner. Some of us got so twisted! It was hilarious! Next, we had our special Thanksgiving lunch. Everyone brought in delicious snacks to share and enjoy. We had many different kinds of vegetables, fruits, and dips. It was neat to explore our sense of taste and try some new things. Next, we had music class. In language arts, we read a book about the first Thanksgiving. Then, we practiced writing sentences in our handwriting books. In art, we made Thanksgiving bookmarks to bring home. After recess and lunch, we had Quiet Time and science. In science, we worked at two different Sense Stations: The Touch Station and The Sight Station. At the Touch Station, we had to feel inside mystery bags and guess what we felt. At the Sight Station, we had to find different objects in a Seek-and-Find. At the end of the day, we added our eyes, noses, ears, and mouths to our bodies. Have a truly wonderful Thanksgiving and relaxing break!
