Do You Know Spanish Words for Colors?
Mrs. Buck's update for November 30th 2009
We had a terrific day today. Our Question of the Day today was: Do you have a pet? After our Morning Meeting and changing jobs, we had math. We played a game where each student had a “teen” number and then had a certain action to do. Then, we worked together to arrange ourselves into the proper order. After recess and snack, we read a book about all sorts of pets. In language arts, we worked with the uppercase “A” and “B” in our handwriting books and our phonics books. Our new weekly poem, My Cat Goes Flying Through the Air, is a funny one! After lunch, we read a book called Annie’s Pet. Quiet Time followed. The goldfish craft we made today had us using our knowledge of color words in Spanish. Our journal topic today was: A __________ would be a great pet because… In the afternoon, we worked in groups to complete language arts activities. Some students played Letter-Sound Bingo. Other students played “I Spy” Syllables. The last group made Star Word Sort Books.
