We had a magnificent day today!  Our Question of the Day for today was:  Would you sleep in a doghouse?  (Fourteen students would not; One student would.)  After our morning meeting, we worked in writers’ workshop.  We completed the sentence:  “I have a..”  We are really beginning to understand how to sound out words when we write.  We also reviewed how to tell how many words are in a sentence and how we end a sentence with a period.  After recess and snack, we read The Gingerbread Baby.  In language arts, we practiced the uppercase “W” and “X.”  We worked in our phonics books and read our weekly poem.  After lunch, we had a Mystery Reader.  Quiet Time followed.  We made adorable Rudolphs in art class.  Our journal topic today was:  My favorite Christmas gift ever was…  We ended our day with open-ended language arts activities and classroom jobs.  Have a snow-tally awesome weekend!
