Feliz Navidad!
Mrs. Buck's update for December 21st 2009
We had a great day today! Our Question of the Day today was: Do you like candy canes? (Fourteen of us do; two of us do not.) After our morning meeting, we worked on the uppercase “Y” and “Z.” Then, we read our weekly poem: The Hairy Dog. We also read about Jingle, the Christmas Clown. In math, we made symmetry paintings. Do you know what symmetrical means? After lunch, we made poinsettias and learned that Feliz Navidad means Merry Christmas in Spanish. We wrapped up our special gifts for our parents, cashed in Buck’s Bucks, and also received little gifts from Miss Sharon. We enjoyed reading a special story about Baby Jesus. Our journal topic today was: On Christmas, I eat… At the end of the day, we worked on puzzles and did our classroom jobs. Please be sure to check our backpacks thoroughly. We have many special things in there.
