Freeze Dance Was Fantastic!

Mrs. Buck's update for January 27th 2010

We had a splendid day today! Our Question of the Day today was: Would you like to be an inventor? (Eight of us said “yes”; Seven of us said “no”.) We began our day with Chapel Time with Pastor Chad. He talked to us about love and how God loves all of us so much. In math, we worked at our Centers. After recess and snack, we had an important lesson with Q Bear. We learned that Q Bear had gotten angry and was sitting at the yellow table to calm down. We discussed different ways to help us “keep our cool” if we are upset: count to five, spend time alone, or talk it out. Then, we sang a song about these strategies to the tune of “If You’re Happy And You Know It.” In language arts, we reviewed the “ip” word family. Then, we practiced spelling and writing word family words on handwriting sheets. Next, we worked in our phonics books and read our weekly poem. After recess and lunch, we had our read-aloud and Quiet Time. In P.E., we played Freeze Dance. You should see some of our dance moves! Our journal topic today was: If I could anywhere, I would go to… We ended the day with Activities, classroom jobs, and some poems.
