We had a terrific day today!  Our Question of the Day was:  Do you like to visit the dentist?  (Fifteen of us do; one of us does not.)  After our morning meeting, we worked at Writers’ Workshop on a new class book about communities.  Recess and snack followed.  In language arts, we read about visiting the dentist.  After reviewing word families, we worked on our Skills for Growing theme of making decisions.  We had to think and choose which activities we like to do during play time:  blocks, puzzles, games, or art.  We drew pictures of our choices and shared them with our classmates.  A giant bar graph shows which activities were the most popular.  It was fun to make the bar graph and use it as a tool to answer questions.  We practiced our weekly poem and then had recess.  A Mystery Reader visited us after lunch.  Quiet Time came next.  In art, we drew beautiful hand collages and then added watercolor paint.  They look stunning in our classroom!  Our journal topic today was: Something special about my community is…  At the end of the day, we did Activities and then read a Time for Kids.  Have a wonderful weekend!
