Music With Miss Elena Was Energizing!
Mrs. Buck's update for February 23rd 2010
We had a fantastic day today! Our Question of the Day today was: Do you live near a zoo? (Fifteen of us do not; one of us does.) After our morning meeting, we had math. We worked in small groups at Math Centers. One group worked with Miss Sharon to explore probability with colored bear counters. Another group used pick-up sticks to see how often they would toss the same colors. The third group had to level the pan balance using Play-Doh. Recess and snack followed. In language arts, we worked with the “ug” family and practiced reading sentences. Brainstorming a list of “no” choices with Q Bear reminded us about making safe choices. Next, we practiced our weekly poem. Then, we had recess and lunch. A read-aloud about child care workers was fun. After Quiet Time, we had Music with Miss Elena. We practiced our songs for our Africa Show. Our journal topic today was: I show that I love someone by… In the afternoon, we had Activities. One group played Star Word Roll. Another worked on an “it” family cut and paste. The third group swatted word family words. The last group made different word family words using a heart chart.
