Happy Birthday, Miss Theresa!

Mrs. Buck's update for March 5th 2010

We had an awesome day today!  Our Question of the Day today was:  Would you rather be striped like a zebra or spotted like a leopard?  (Two of us would like zebra stripes; 13 of us would like leopard spots.)  After our morning meeting, we worked at Writers’ Workshop.  Our sentence starter today was:  “A _______ is very big.”  We used our knowledge of letter sounds and inventive spelling to write our ideas.  After recess, we had snack.  We enjoyed singing “Happy Birthday” to Miss Theresa and eating the delicious brownies.  In language arts, we read Stellaluna and read our “op” family books.  We talked about skills and talents and created “Hall of Fame” images of people we know who have special skills and talents.  After practicing our weekly poem, we worked on our handwriting by writing some of our Star Words.  After recess and lunch, we had a Mystery Reader.  Quiet Time followed.  In art, we created beautiful necklaces to wear for our Africa Show.  We ended the day with Activity Time and a Time for Kids magazine.  Have a magical weekend!
