What Is Your Talent?
Mrs. Buck's update for March 8th 2010
We had a terrific day today! Our Question of the Day today was: Have you ever heard a real lion roar? (Eleven of us have; Five of us have not.) After our morning meeting, we had math. We walked the number line and reviewed addition and subtraction concepts. It was fun to figure out what number someone would be on if they took a certain amount of steps forward or backward. We finally had recess outside!! It was so nice to get some fresh air! After snack, we read a George and Martha book. We love these! In language arts, we worked with the “ot” word family and talked about our talents with Q Bear. We shared our pictures with one another. We are such a talented group! After reading our new weekly poem, When Mosquitoes Make a Meal, we practiced our handwriting by writing some of our Star Words. Recess and lunch followed. After our read-aloud and Quiet Time, we had Spanish class. Our journal topic today was: My favorite African animal is… In the afternoon, we had Activity Time. One group played an African Animal Concentration Match game. Another group worked with the “op” family from last week. The third group colored and read the “it” family book. The last group played Big Cat Bingo to review number recognition.
