Our Africa Showcase Was a Success!

Mrs. Buck's update for March 26th 2010

We had a wonderful day today!  Our Question of the Day today was:  Do you go somewhere special for Easter?  (13 of us do; 3 of us do not.)  After our morning meeting, we started preparing the meal for our African luncheon.  We cut up tomatoes, carrots, and strawberries.  Then, we went upstairs to the CLC to finish preparing the room.  We set the tables and put out menus.  Next, we had lunch.  After lunch, we went upstairs for the Africa Show!  We all did a fantastic job singing songs, saying facts, and reciting lines.  It was a truly remarkable performance.  All of our guests enjoyed the Tanzanian stew, salad, yams, and fruit.  Our artwork looked lovely decorating the walls of the CLC.  After serving lunch and relaxing with our families, we had a Mystery Reader.  Next, we wrote in our journals.  Our journal topic today was: On warm, sunny days, I like to…  At the end of the day, we had Activity Time and took a nature walk outside to enjoy the beautiful weather.  We saw many flowers beginning to bloom. Have an excellent weekend, relaxing break, and a very Happy Easter!
