We had a terrific day today!  Our Question of the Day today was:  Which ocean creature is your favorite:  starfish, shark, whale, or other?  (No one picked starfish or whale; two of us chose shark; 14 of us selected other.)  After our morning meeting, we worked in Math Centers.  After recess and snack, we read two great books about the ocean.  One, A House for Hermit Crab, was by one of our favorite authors:  Eric Carle.  Next, we cut out mixed up ocean sentences, put them together and created illustrations.  Our jellyfish windsocks look so adorable!  We had afternoon recess and lunch next.  Another ocean book read-aloud and Quiet Time followed.  In the afternoon, we played Octopus Tag in P.E. and wrote about the ocean in our journals.  At the end of the day, we had Activity Time, performed our classroom jobs, and read more of Junie B. Jones.
