We Welcomed Next Year’s Kindergarten Class Today!

Mrs. Buck's update for May 20th 2010

We had a wonderful day today!  Our Question of the Day today was:  Would you ever want to wrestle an alligator?  (Thirteen of us said yes; 2 of us said no.)  After our morning meeting, we worked in small groups at Math Centers and had a quick snack.  Then, it was time for Kindergarten Round-Up.  We each had a pre-school buddy that we showed around our classroom.  We told them all about what we do in Kindergarten and answered their questions.  Miss Sharon read a story about Kindergarten and everyone worked on a picture showing their favorite part of school.  Then, we worked on puzzles with our buddies, drank some cups of juice, and read books together.  In language arts, we played a popsicle rhyming match game.  Then, we read our weekly poem and A to Z books.  Recess and lunch followed.  After our afternoon read-aloud, we had Quiet Time and our special popsicle treat for Popsicle Day.  In science, we read about the life cycle of a frog and put together our very own diagrams.  Our journal topic today was alligators.  We ended our day with Activity Time, jobs, and Junie B.
